“Ahhh. That’s real quaint.” How many American tourists have uttered these words in English villages up and down the country? Beardsley’s Tea Room in Rearsby is the very definition of the word “quaint”. Entering is like walking into favourite grandma’s house after she’s been on a cake-baking, tea-making, fire-laying masterclass. It’s cosy and utterly delightful. It’s also licensed, so you can enjoy something stronger than an Earl Grey if you so desire. It’s the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon tea in Leicestershire.
Inside are three pretty rooms, and outside you can take advantage of a landscaped seating area. Dogs are welcome outside and in one of the rooms.
The menu includes homemade cakes, light bites, hot treats and afternoon tea – all freshly prepared and from the Aga.
Beardsley’s also doubles as a quirky shop, selling locally sourced produce and gifts.
This village tea room is simply magical and we bet you can’t visit without saying “quaint”.
