Hazéls brings together three familiar names from the St Albans hospitality scene. Chef Drew Knight has partnered with Alex Addison and Hannah Petrouis, the team behind The Hub on Verulam, to create a restaurant and wine bar with a big commitment to music.
Located next door to The Hub, Hazéls combines Drew’s seasonal, French-inspired cooking with a carefully curated wine list and custom-built vinyl sound system.
Music is central to the experience. Inspired by Japan’s jazz kissas, Hazéls has an extensive vinyl collection and vintage audio equipment, creating an atmosphere where music is enjoyed rather than simply providing background noise.
The food menu is designed around sharing, with seasonal ingredients and carefully selected suppliers shaping dishes that change regularly.
Not only is the food excellent, music superb, and the décor is extremely stylish, but it’s the staff that really make the experience. They are just so friendly and down to earth, despite the super-stylish environment. This is a very special addition to the St Albans food scene!
