Roaming Roast is the brainchild of local entrepreneur Charlie Rozentals. He’s been serving up fresh coffee to Borehamwood locals from his beautiful blue Piaggio Ápe van since 2024.
Charlie’s story is a familiar one. After many years in the corporate rat race he decided it was time to do something different. As a Borehamwood local, he looked around and felt that the takeaway coffee options weren’t where they should be. But rather than sitting back and moaning, he decided to do something about it…and Roaming Roast was born! It was time to bring ‘proper coffee’ to more people.
You’ll find Charlie and his van on the corner of Shenley Road and Furzehill Road, near the station and right in the heart of bustling Borehamwood. It’s conveniently located and very hard to miss!
But Charlie is onto something special with Roaming Roast, he’s found that great combination of a wonderful cup of speciality coffee and excellent customer service. He’s not about all the syrups and squirty cream, there are plenty of high street options for that, he lets the coffee bring the flair. He’ll happily get your coffee in a hurry if time is precious, but he’s also there for a chat too.
His coffee comes from Origin Coffee, one of Europe’s leading speciality coffee roasters, with full transparency in the supply chain. The specific coffee is called ‘Resolute’ and has a caramel, milk chocolate note to it. Very well balanced! And if you’re feeling a bit peckish, there’s always some homemade treats like cookies or chocolate slices baked by business partner (and wife) Abbi to complement the coffee. Plus if your four-legged friend will get to love the dog treats too!
They are also offering barista workshops and to order Abbi’s baked goodies directly too. Great to see this business going from strength to strength!
