Situated in Old Stevenage High Street, Helg is a stylish blend of café and artisan bakery in a beautifully restored setting. The business is owned and managed by Linda and Richard Zivkovic who are focused on creating a modern, welcoming atmosphere, inspired by the word Norwegian word ‘hygge’.
Because of Linda’s Norwegian upbringing, they’ve chosen to name the business ‘helg’ which translates as ‘weekend’. They hope that they can provide customers with the warmth, relaxing atmosphere and joy we associate with the weekend, and make people feel at home. Service is clearly a huge priority at Helg, and ensuring customers feel welcomed and well-looked after, is very much part of how they do business.
This business has a clear focus on sustainability too. The team are all local, and their coffee is roasted locally in Weston. They discount for use of reusable cups and they even sell cup made from coffee waste. Plus all of their cleaning products are eco-friendly too!
