Hobbs is a traditional, family-run fishmongers in Market Harborough town centre. Beneath the shop awning, you’ll find a magnificent display of fresh fish and seafood, decorated with shells.
Expect a brilliant selection including the likes of Whitby cod, wild sea bass, oak-smoked haddock, guilt-head bream, turbot, Dover sole, Cromer crabs and oysters.
Jenny Hobbs runs the shop after her mum and dad bought it in 1969. If you pay Hobbs a visit, you’re guaranteed a friendly welcome and some outstanding produce. “We will be very happy to prepare your fish,” says Jenny. “De-scaling, filleting or gutting and breadcrumbing is all part of the service. Nothing is too much trouble.”
