Just a short stroll from Lincoln city centre, The Horse & Groom is a handsome 18th-century pub that’s earned its stripes – and recently picked up Pub of the Year at the Lincolnshire & Rutland Tourism Awards 2024/5.
Food is more creative here than at most pubs, with a modern menu that showcases good quality ingredients. From rosemary focaccia with lemon hummus to hog roast & Manchego croquettes, the small plates pack a punch. Mains span red mullet with lemon couscous, Moroccan grilled chicken and rich, slow-cooked pies. The burgers are standouts too – including one that donates £1 per order to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
Add in a rotating selection of perfectly kept local ales, spot-on service and a sun-trap terrace, and it’s easy to see why this place is well loved. A small car park is available beside the pub – just register your plate at the bar. The service here deserves special mention – staff are considerate and well-trained.
