Lambert’s was a finalist in the café category of our 2019/2020 Awards. It’s a superb place for breakfast, lunch or, on Thursday and Friday evenings, supper. It offers delicious, home-cooked food, and locally sourced where possible as Lambert’s loves to support local producers.
Steve Conway opened his kitchen, deli and coffee shop in February 2016. Delicious food is only to be expected – he was executive head chef at Barnsdale Lodge in Rutland for five years and head chef at Stapleford Park before that.
During our visit, a brunch of toasted Hambleton sourdough with roast Lincolnshire ham and poached free-range eggs from Fowler’s Farm (and freshly prepared Hollandaise) hit the spot nicely.
Cheyne Lane is one of Stamford’s prettiest streets, tucked off the high street and as such, is the perfect place to sit down with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
