Lambert’s of Stamford is a great place for breakfast, lunch or, on Thursday and Friday evenings, supper – for which it is gaining a superb reputation. It also stocks a wide range of delicatessen products, locally sourced where possible. Many of these ingredients are used in the kitchen, as owner Steve Conway explains, “to ensure we are 100% happy with the products you use in yours”. Lambert’s supports local farmers and producers, which highlights its field-to-fork philosophy.
Steve opened Lambert’s – named after 52-stone heavyweight and local legend Daniel Lambert whose final resting place was Stamford – with his wife in February 2016.
During our visit, a tasty brunch of waffles with dry-cured bacon and maple syrup hit the spot nicely. Delicious food is only to be expected – Steve was executive head chef at Barnsdale Lodge for five years and head chef at Stapleford Park before that.
