Lambert’s Kitchen, Deli & Coffee Shop

Lambert’s of Stamford is a great place for breakfast, lunch or, on Thursday and Friday evenings, supper – for which it is gaining a superb reputation. It also stocks a wide range of delicatessen products, locally sourced where possible. Many of these ingredients are used in the kitchen, as owner Steve Conway explains, “to ensure we are 100% happy with the products you use in yours”. Lambert’s supports local farmers and producers, which highlights its field-to-fork philosophy.

Steve opened Lambert’s – named after 52-stone heavyweight and local legend Daniel Lambert whose final resting place was Stamford  – with his wife in February 2016.

During our visit, a tasty brunch of waffles with dry-cure bacon and maple syrup hit the spot nicely. Delicious food is only to be expected – Steve was executive head chef at Barnsdale Lodge for five years and head chef at Stapleford Park before that.

BrunchOur first visit was Tuesday lunchtime and the place was bustling. We only managed to squeeze onto the end of a large table sharing with another group but we had plenty of room. Great decor, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. We had coffee and food from the brunch menu. Good quality, freshly prepared and quick to arrive. We will be back.
