Mumbai Sandwich Station
Just off Leicester’s Golden Mile (Belgrave Road), you’ll find Mumbai Sandwich Station and what a find it is! It was recommended to us by Pratik from Wigston Deli and we were impressed when we visited.
There’s street art all over the walls and its laid-back Mumbai street-cafe vibe, makes it popular with locals and visitors, both young and old, who order authentic chaats and puris alongside fusion snacks like Mumbai chip butties and masala toasties.
We went for their signature dahi puri (pictured) – semolina puri filled with potato, kala chana, onion and homemade sweet dahi topped with sev, green chutney and tamarind sauce. They come cold and were delicious. We also enjoyed a chilli paneer toastie and a glass of chai. The chai here is punchy, laden with cloves and cardamom and utterly delicious.
