Proving Pete’s bakery, set within Offley Hoo Farm, brings a fresh yet deeply rooted approach to artisan breadmaking. Taking the location over from the much-loved Jo’s Loaves, this really represents a passing of the baton.
Peter spent many years as a chef, developing a deep understanding of flavour, technique, consistency, and the importance of quality ingredients. Alongside his professional career, baking has always been a constant passion, quietly refined over many years. And as Jo decided her time was right to move on, Peter spent time shadowing her to prepare properly for taking over.
And now Proving Pete’s starts a new chapter of baking at Offley Hoo Farm, whilst still respecting the traditional craft of baking real sourdough. The result is bread with real character: crisp, deeply caramelised crusts and soft, flavourful interiors that reflect both skill and patience. Whether it’s a classic sourdough loaf or a lovely cheese twist, it’s definitely worth popping in!
