Derbyshire-based artisan producer Kay Hawkins – aka The Quirky Cook – came across black garlic in 2015 and has since been nationally recognised for her innovative creations. The introduction of the Honeyed Fig Relish with Black Garlic saw The Quirky Cook take home her first national food award – Ambient Product of the Year – in the 2018 Great Taste Awards organised by the Guild of Fine Food.
The Quirky Cook has held the same ethos since 2008: to create high-quality homemade products with the purest ingredients, carefully selected to eliminate artificial preservatives and allergens wherever possible.
