The Milking Parlour, Tollgate Brewery
The Milking Parlour is part of the Tollgate Brewery company who also run another three pubs in the area – The Town Street Tap in Duffield, The Queens Road Tap in Clarendon Park and The Tap at No.76 in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. This location however, has to be its prettiest. You’ll find The Milking Parlour set within the National Trust’s Calke Abbey estate and, as the name suggests, it’s situated in an old dairy shed.
Sit outside with a pint of Tollgate’s cask or keg beer such as Ashby Pale (English pale ale with citrus hints), Billy’s Best Bitter (amber coloured with malty flavour) or you could even have a cuppa if that’s more your thing.
From Monday to Saturday, fresh pizza of all flavour combinations is on offer and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, there’s a barbecue. Sunday is also street food day and features guest pop ups so you’ll always be able to try something new.
