The School of Artisan Food

The School of Artisan Food is a past winner of ‘Best Food & Drink Experience’ in the Great Food Club Awards.

Expert tutors teach with passion and skill, and the equipment is top quality. Students leave with deep knowledge and appreciation of their chosen subject, whether that is baking, cheesemaking, butchery or one of the other courses.

Short courses include Artisan Charcuterie, French Baking, Home Dairy Skills, British Pies, Fermentation & Pickling and Fire & Smoke. While full-time options include signature in-depth courses – the Advanced Diploma in Baking, and the FDSC in Artisan Food Production.

The School also now runs short business-focused courses such as ‘Food Business Start-Ups’ and ‘Creating a Successful Micro-Bakery’.

The School of Artisan Food is a beacon for the transmission and continuation of valuable food skills.

I’ve just been on the ‘Introduction to Chocolate Making’ course. It was really well taught; we had demonstrations interspersed with making and and decorating our own chocolates. We learnt a lot about different ingredients, where to source them, worked with a wide variety of tools and equipment and were also shown three different ways to temper chocolate. The facilities at the school are second to none. It was a most enjoyable day.
The breakfast on arrival and the wonderful lunch are an added bonus.

  2. Matt Wright Matt Wright says:

Went on the cider-making course and left feeling inspired and educated. Learnt lots and have had several goes at making my own since. The School of Artisan Food is an asset to the UK and its Diploma in Baking has fired many of the country’s best new food businesses into existence (as have its shorter courses).
