A charming 17th-century pub in West Haddon – around 12 miles from Northampton – The Sheaf Inn has been lovingly revived by chef-director Luke Bavester since 2018. With a warm welcome, a seasonal menu and regular events like Cheese Nights and Sheaf Fest, it’s become a foodie community hub.
The dishes served here are imaginative, generous and full of flavour. Starters include Korean scotch egg with BBQ sauce and salt cod fritter with tomato and pepper dip. Mains might feature slow-cooked pork collar with cider cooking liquor, or Malbec beef cheek lasagne with mascarpone and basil. Vegetarians are well catered for too, with options like butternut squash ribbon pasta with feta and pistou.
All food is cooked fresh to order using local produce, and there’s a cracking beer garden plus a warm, rustic interior with three dining areas to suit every occasion.
