The Plough, Everdon

After nearly 4 years of closure, David and Sarah Webster took over The Plough at Everdon. They embarked on a major refurbishment in 2023 with the goal of returning it to its former glory.

This couple have a passion for hospitality and dining excellence, having previously worked at The Fox and Hounds in Charwelton and also Le Manoir. Their dream was to return this historic inn to its role as hub of the community.

And what a job they’ve done! It’s tastefully decorated inside and out, while maintaining the character of a village pub. If you like to drop into a traditional pub with well-kept ales after a dog walk, this is a great spot. If a glass of wine with friends is your bag, choose from over 200 different bottles (20+ by the glass) and a regularly updated specials board.

But where The Plough really comes into its own is the food. ‘Locally sourced’ is increasingly just the norm, but at The Plough they take it to the next level. Where possible, they butcher all of their meat on site. Plus they only choose meat and vegetables that are reared or grown locally. Provenance is king here. They bake bread twice daily using local flour from within the county or just over the border in Oxfordshire. And although there are no coastal waters in Northamptonshire, they only buy fish from small family boats in Cornwall, Colchester & Scotland.

This is a business, focused on excellence and destined to achieve great things. And actually, within only a year of opening, The Plough was awarded its first AA Rosette For Culinary Excellence. It won’t be the last award, we’re sure of it!
