Spice of India, Syston

Spice of India in Syston, or SOI, is a 35-year-old institution founded and run by local entrepreneur Atulkumar (Atul) Dawda.

SOI has various different spaces for different occasions. Firstly a bar/lounge area where customers can enjoy a drink and a chat before sitting down to dinner. This flows through to the main dining room which seats up to 70 people. And there is also a party room on the conservatory side of the restaurant. This room has a TV in case of a big sporting event that you simply can’t miss! And there’s also a function room upstairs for parties, corporate events or charity functions.

The food is a consistently high standard and some customers have been returning for decades! The varied menu contains timeless classics such as jalfrezi, bhuna, rogan josh, shashlick sizzlers. But there’s a lovely chef’s selection range including jalanderpuri chicken or lamb, Nepalese chicken or dhaba egg. Plenty of great options, means plenty of reasons to keep visiting and trying new things! And if you can’t get down there in person, all their food is available for delivery or as outside catering.
