The Crown & Punchbowl

The Crown & Punchbowl is part of the CambsCuisine group, which has another six eating establishments in the area. It’s a pretty Grade II-listed village pub in Horningsea just outside Cambridge and offers lodgings with nine guest rooms for those who are visiting Cambridge but prefer a countryside location.

Local real ales are always available and the menu supports local food producers and businesses whenever possible. You can’t go far wrong with the Sunday roasts and the rest of the dishes encompass Modern British and European cuisine – courgette, artichoke and pea gemelli, whole plaice (responsibly sourced) and crisp marinated tofu are just some of the options. Not leaving room for dessert however, would be a grave error with so many tantalising ways to end your meal – lavender and thyme pannacotta, dark chocolate delice, sticky toffee pudding… choices!
