The Goat Yard is a vibrant Caribbean restaurant in the heart of Tring and has quickly established itself as a local favourite. Owner Helen Dent had already been running the Goat Boat pop-up barge restaurant, but expanded into bricks and mortar in 2024.
Helen was inspired by her children – her daughter’s commercial acumen and her son’s love of her goat curry – prompted her to start a business!
The menu features classics such as curry goat, jerk short rib, saltfish & ackee and Caribbean crab cake. Chef Conway really cares about the food, and the flavours really shine through. The curry goat is so tender, and the homemade slaw really complements it. Front of house, Kay makes you feel really welcome and will grab you a beer, a cocktail or a rum punch while you wait for your food to arrive!
The Goat Yard is a welcome addition to the Tring restaurant scene. Watch out for the new Goat food truck too!
