The Station, Knebworth

Directly opposite Knebworth railway station, The Station is a beautifully restored Victorian free house that has become a beloved local destination. It’s run by Knebworth locals Becky and Lloyd Willis who took it over in 2019. At that time it had been closed for two years and destined for permanent closure.

The pub itself is actually owned Knebworth Parish Council, and saved it from being converted to flats, despite planning permission still being in place.

It’s now a community hub and is a key meeting point for local groups. Plus the team are regularly involved in village events. Even the beer is local – you’ll regularly see names like Mad Squirrel, Tring, Buntingford and New River on the bar, and as a result it’s made it into the Good Beer Guide.

The food is also excellent and under head chef Vicky Weston there are seasonal, freshly cooked dishes as well as pub classics like roasts or fish & chips. And as The Station has Coeliac UK Accreditation, you can expect plenty of high quality gluten free choices on the menu.

A community-spirited pub, with lovely people, local beer and tasty seasonal food – The Station is everything a village pub should be!
