Thirteen Artisan Bakery is the realisation of a dream for founder Neesha Govender Harris. After starting her baking business in her kitchen in 2022, to supplying great cafes such as Brad & Dills and Brew Garden, to then opening a fantastic bricks-and-mortar cafe in the middle of Hertford two years later, is a great story!
Thirteen is all about handcrafted, sustainable baking. Their sourdoughs contain only flour, water and salt and are baked fresh daily. There’s also a great range of pastries and goodies such as their signature morning buns. Plus if you like a sausage roll, look no further than Thirteen – lovely pastry on the outside, sausage meat from Picketts of Hertford on the inside.
Neesha and team don’t like waste, and so they use the offcuts of the croissant pastry for their marmite and cheese knots. And any leftovers go into the bread puddings too!
This is a charming cafe and deli with a real attention to quality baking and excellent service!
