Vegetarian Rasoi in West Bridgford offers home-cooked Indian vegetarian food. It was named our People’s Choice Champion 2022/23 – the title presented to the business that received the highest number of votes overall in our annual awards.
Initially set up as a supper club five years ago by Meena and Jatinder Hanspal, eager fans were hungry for more and now the business serves up delivery and takeaways every Friday in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham.
Ingredients are locally-sourced and the couple work to a zero-waste model, with meals only available to pre-order, served in compostable containers. In 2022, Meena was awarded a British Empire Medal for her work at Guru Nanak’s Mission in Nottingham, delivering around 400 hot meals weekly to needy people.
The Vegetarian Rasoi crew also regularly visit local schools to show kids the joys and benefits of home cooking.
