White Rabbit Tea House

This delightfully welcoming little tea house serves speciality teas, homemade cakes and scones, light lunches and traditional English Afternoon Teas.

Hidden away in a covered ginnel that runs between Bridlesmith Gate and Fletcher Gate in Nottingham’s city centre, this tea shop is actually one of two, the other (and the original) is located on nearby Houndsgate. The rise of vintage and traditional tea rooms over recent years has been quite a phenomenon and as a result the quality can be variable. However at the White Rabbit, all the cakes and scones are homemade, beautifully presented and served on decorative china plates, with the tea in proper teapots and delicate cups.

The café also offers the full Afternoon Tea experience with sandwiches, scones and cakes served on a tiered stand. The White Rabbit also offers light lunches including salads, sandwiches and paninis, and makes Celebration Cakes for special events.

On our visit we enjoyed friendly service (including a guide to all the delicious cakes), a lovely white tea with rose and pomegranate, and a slice of luxurious strawberry and passionfruit cake, setting us up perfectly for the day ahead.
