Step inside Woodhall Spa Delicatessen & Bakery and prepare to be wowed by the many delights you’ll find there. It’s something of an institution in the village but it attracts a fair amount of visitors too, and for good reason. It’s a friendly shop, somewhere you go to pick up a proper loaf of bread (the multigrain is very popular) but then leave weighed down with treats. Peer in the windows and you’ll see stacks of pastel-hued meringues, freshly-made sausage rolls and real cream cakes so fat you’ll need cutlery to tackle them! They whisper ‘come in’ and you’ll go willingly.

Cheese is a big deal and, in addition to some international offerings including Manchego and Jarlsberg, you’ll also find local cheeses including Just Jane cheddar from Lincolnshire cheesemaker Lymn Bank Farm. Then there’s all the cooked meats, the sausage rolls with their buttery pastry and the perfect pork pies, pretty little chocolates and much more.
