Winner

All Mine Cakes by the Lake, Maythorne, near Southwell, Nottinghamshire

Finalists

The Crimson Tree, Sherwood, Nottingham
Bread & Butterflies, West Bridgford, Nottingham
Apteekki, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire

The winner is All Mine Cakes by the Lake – a beautiful, tranquil and extremely professionally run gluten-free café set by fishing lakes in Maythorne near Southwell.

Breakfast served on our judges’ visit – in a box due to Covid restrictions

Former nurse Hayley Schofield and her team are clear perfectionists who have created a spotless, delightfully decorated venue.

Their ethos is to source the freshest, best quality ingredients – local and seasonal where possible – and to deliver a delicious and exciting menu. On our visit, the breakfast was top quality showcasing locally sourced sausages and bacon, and perfectly cooked poached eggs.

However, the cakes are the house speciality and, well… wow. The chocolate brownie, despite being gluten-free, was up there with the very best we’ve tried.

All Mine Cakes is a worthy winner amongst stiff competition.
