Click-and-collect local produce shop launches in Leics

An online shop allowing you to order food and drink produced by local farmers and artisans has launched in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

edibLE16 offers customers the opportunity to buy products grown and produced in the LE16 postcode area, including award-winning ales, sausages, beef, lamb, fruits, vegetables, bakery products and eggs. In total the site currently offers 250 products from 14 local food producers.

The website allows you to order your shopping online and collect it from the The Admiral Nelson pub, Nelson Street, Market Harborough on Saturday mornings.

edibLE16 is a non-for-private-profit company that came about through a Transition Towns initiative. It aims to support small producers and the local economy.

edibLE16 manager Emma Poggi Kendall said: “edibLE16 is here for everyone in the community – producers and consumers. Why not make a small change to your shopping habits and buy local produce from edibLE16? It’s good for you and the local economy, and with click and collect, it’s convenient.”

To use edibLE16, fill the cart with your weekly shopping and collect your order on Saturday morning.
