The Burleigh Arms is a Cambridge pub with history and ambition. Originally built in the 1820s as the brewery tap for the long-gone Star Brewery, it has been lovingly reimagined under owner Tom Arnold, who is intent on creating one of the country’s most exciting dining pubs.
At its heart, The Burleigh Arms is still a welcoming local, but food and drink are taken to the next level. Tom, an accomplished mixologist, has designed the “Fellowship of Flavour” cocktail list to intrigue and surprise. In the kitchen, Head Chef Kareem Roberts brings flair and creativity, drawing on his West Indian heritage and years of experience in Cambridge. Kareem has featured on BBC’s Great British Menu and now showcases his talent through a seasonal set menu that celebrates modern British cooking with global influences.
Sample dishes include tamarind-glazed quail with cashew emulsion, buttermilk fried poussin with hot honey, and market fish with ratatouille and shellfish bisque. Vegetarians and vegans are also well looked after, with highlights such as heritage tomato pavé and confit fennel with saffron and coconut cream.
Listed in Estrella’s Top 100 Gastropubs, The Burleigh Arms offers tradition, innovation and outstanding hospitality in equal measure.
