Chapman’s Butchers, Baldock

Chapmans Butchers in Baldock is a well-established, family-founded traditional butcher’s shop, dating back to 1937. And it’s still family owned now with Philip Chapman and partner Sara Appleton in charge!

Chapman’s offers a superb range of prime British meats, from their own dry-cured bacon and pork pies prepared on-site, to award-winning South African-style biltong. They also make their own black pudding and haggis too! All their beef is naturally reared, grass fed Aberdeen Angus from Scotland. It’s then matured in Chapman’s ageing room for a minimum of four weeks. Pork is free range from Suffolk and naturally fatty demonstrating the quality. They source lamb on a seasonal basis too including from the south of England all the way to late lamb from Hebrides.

This is a butcher that preserves traditions, but combines with expert service and modern quality standards!
