Chutney Ivy

Chutney Ivy is located in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter, close to The Curve Theatre.

This stylish Indian restaurant and bar feels contemporary, sophisticated and relaxed. There is a hint of warehouse about the interior, with high ceilings and suspended light gantries creating an ambience that’s different to the usual UK Asian dining experience.

The kitchen produces dishes reflecting a range of cuisines from around the subcontinent – Bengali, Mughlai, Goan and more. The menu is simple and the kitchen is focused on providing an experience that makes you feel comfortable and able to experiment. Owner and restaurant director Shaf Islam has more than 20 years’ experience in the trade.

Great Food Club’s reviewer said: “We enjoyed a well-managed lunchtime buffet featuring fine, peppery chicken pakora, and excellent, scalp-tingling lamb kofta.

“On later visits we had the pre-theatre banquet menu which included poppadums and good tangy chutneys, a selection of starters including tender chicken malai tikka and impeccably crisp vegetable bhaji, and three main course curries in small pots, which were replenished as required. A highlight from the a la carte was a vibrant Gholmoris methi murgh, a Hydrabadi-style chicken dish featuring fenugreek leaves.”
