The Lancaster Arms is a stylish, modern country pub with quite a unique claim to fame – it’s believed to occupy the site where Richard III rested his army during the Wars of the Roses – the pub’s logo features Richard’s boar.

Although it only re-opened in 2018, it’s certainly drawing the crowds with a relaxed bar; cosy dining area inside – with a fireplace at its heart; a private dining room and numerous options for dining outside in all weathers, including the heated Burleigh’s gin terrace and domes.

Food is served from Wednesday to Sunday with Sunday lunch proving very popular indeed – sirloin of beef, turkey or lamb – best of all, they are available as sharing boards with seasonal vegetables, and unlimited roast potatoes! And, to finish, why not opt for cheese? The pub prides itself on its excellent cheese offering so why miss out?
