Crab & Cocktails is an outdoor restaurant in the garden of The Red Lion at Cranford, offering a separate dining experience centred on seafood, steaks and cocktails.
Created by pub owners Richard Gordon and Sonya Freeman, it has quickly become a major draw, serving around 500 diners a week at busy times. Cooking focuses on the Rock-OX Grill, which brings plenty of flame and smoke to the menu.
You might find whole lobster, Jersey rock oysters, grilled octopus, tiger prawns and seafood boils packed with crab, mussels, langoustines and prawns. Meat eaters are well catered for too, with charcoal-grilled sirloin and ribeye steaks among the options.
The setting feels lively and informal, making it a good choice for groups, celebrations or a meal that feels different from a standard pub visit. Cocktails form a key part of the offer, alongside the food.
Although it began as a seasonal attraction, the team now plans to keep Crab & Cocktails open throughout the year. Booking ahead is sensible during the busiest periods.
