Falcons Deli, Old Hatfield

Falcons Deli is a local Italian gem nestled in Salisbury Square in Old Hatfield.

It’s the brainchild of Irena Falcone who until lockdown was running a kitchen showroom called Falcons Kitchens. But when lockdown hit, she realised it was time to shift gears and opened an Italian deli and ice cream shop in the same location. So instead of choosing kitchen counter tops, customers are now choosing from fresh pasta, salami, cakes and gelato!

Falcons Deli is one of those amazing community businesses. It’s a place where people can come to chat, connect and maybe learn a bit about Italian cooking. And as very close to Hatfield House, Lady Salisbury is a regular visitor and supporter.

Irena is much more than a deli owner, she’s a passionate believer in the power and significance of community. She’s an artist who exhibits locally and runs art workshops out of the deli. She also puts on cooking workshops too – a recent one featuring Karol The Chef from Hatfield House. And she also galvanised the local business community to decorate the new Salisbury Square development hoardings with bespoke Mandala symbols signifying energy and rebirth.

Falcons is more than a deli, this is a place at the heart of the local community and it deserves our full support to thrive!
