French & Day is a wonderful deli right in the centre of Ware. Married couple Tom French and Tom Day founded the business in October 2020 and since then it’s been going from strength to strength.
The pair have travelled extensively, and their love of food and drink has been a huge part of those trips. But they are also really committed to their local community too. Supporting local independent food producers and suppliers is a key part of the ethos of the business. For example, their coffee comes from Sustain and you’ll often find chocolate treats from Emmy’s Brigadeiro, both down the road in Hatfield.
The shop itself is full of great cheeses, pies, quiches, preserves and other deli produce. The wine selection is hugely impressive too. Either grab a table in the front for a coffee and a snack, or pre-book a table in the back and get stuck into a cheese-board or a wine flight! But if you haven’t got the time to stop by, there’s an online shop selling wine tours, hampers, wines and cheeses.
