Sister to our Restaurant of the Year 2024/5, Ember of Wellingborough, The Four Pears is a 17th-century village pub where British ingredients meet live-fire cooking for a dining experience that’s warm, bold and unique.
Imagine cosy winter evenings by the fire or summer afternoons in the sun-drenched courtyard, with a menu that changes with the seasons.
On our visit, we loved the steak tartare with bone marrow and black garlic, and the huge, juicy scallops roasted in their shells with garlic butter. Other highlights include dishes like slow-roasted Roscoff onion with Manchego, and the maple-cured salmon with Yorkshire rhubarb.
Charcoal-grilled mains steal the show – from the pork collar with blushing pink fat to dry-aged British steaks like the 32oz cote de boeuf. It’s a confident, full-flavoured approach that sets this place apart.
Booking early is highly recommended – this outstanding pub fills up fast.
