Carmela’s Kitchen

Carmela Sophia Sereno (Hayes) is of Southern Italian descent, born in Bedford, and now lives in a small Northamptonshire village with her husband and four children.

Passionate about Italian food, Carmela is an accomplished cookery author with five books to her name: Southern Italian Family Cooking, A Passion for Pasta, Northern & Central Italian Family Cooking, How to Make Pasta, and Pasta Fresca. She is also a food writer, contributing a monthly column to The Chronicle & Echo, and works as a cookery tutor, demonstrator, event planner, and recipe developer. As a skilled pastaia, she runs highly successful supper clubs at Northampton Museum & Art Gallery, sponsored by Filippo Berio Olive Oil.

Carmela is an ambassador for both Filippo Berio and pasta tool company Marcato. She also holds monthly demonstrations at Harrods’ Knightsbridge store.
