We recently enjoyed an outstanding meal at Mercado Central in Cambridge. Marco & Rocco served us a fabulous set three-course meal for £29, which represents excellent value. Inspired by the markets and restaurants of Spain, and highlighting Galician and Basque heritage, Mercado Central offers dishes made with high-quality, seasonal ingredients in a beautiful historic Cambridge townhouse setting. Example dishes include Arroz de Verano, Sea Bream with Piperrada, and Grass-Fed Picanha Steak (30-day aged grass-fed British beef).
The restaurant prides itself on working with independent suppliers who offer sustainable and high-welfare produce and great care is taken with not only the sourcing of food but also wine. Take your time choosing your wine from the expertly-curated wine list and, as you’d expect, there’s an excellent selection of Spanish wines from some of the best producers.
