Mesa Hockley
We recently visited Mesa in Hockley, Nottingham – a restaurant we’d wanted to visit for some time because we’d heard so many good things about it. The focus here is on cooking meat and vegetables over an open fire. These dishes (mainly small plates) are interesting, varied and packed with flavour and it’s recommended you have between six to seven plates based on two people sharing.
The pork ribeye with tare glaze and char siu sauce was one of the tastiest dishes we’ve had this year and there’s plenty more to choose from including chicory and grapefruit salad, chaat masala chicken and grilled hake.
Desserts are imaginative and you’ll struggle to choose just one, although the cardamom and ginger pannacotta is certainly a delight.
