Rose & Crown, Sandridge

The Rose & Crown in Sandridge is a beautiful village pub. The building dates back to the 17th century and the pub combines old world charm with a modernity that we expect from foodie pubs these days.

Teresa and Adrian Taylor are the custodians, having moved in just before Christmas in 2023. They gave the pub an immediate subtle but stylish renovation. Since then, the pub has become a key part of the Sandridge and north St Albans community. From those dropping in after a bike ride, families having a meal, or walkers fresh from a stroll in Heartwood Forest.

Having initially focused on high-end gastro food, Teresa and Adrian have pivoted slightly and decided to focus on creating more of a local-pub feel. It’s a subtle shift, but one that feels more natural. That means a proper pint, a good wine list, a relaxed beer garden and a warm fire.

They have also become the go-to location for local events & meet-ups for the local business community.

This is a real favourite with our team. And definitely recommended if you’re in the area!
