Tabure restaurants in St Albans, Berkhamsted and Harpenden all reflect the vision of owners Hulya and Mark Pearse. Hulya grew up in Turkey, learning to cook alongside her family and absorbing the flavours of local markets and home kitchens. When she and Mark later travelled together across the country, they developed the idea of creating a neighbourhood restaurant that blended those traditions with a more modern, inclusive style of dining. That idea became the first Tabure in 2015, and their approach remains consistent across every branch.
Each restaurant shares the same warm, contemporary look, with open kitchens and a lively atmosphere that suits both casual meals and special occasions. The menu stays true to Hulya’s roots: dishes are cooked fresh, often over charcoal, with an emphasis on seasonal produce, organic meats, and vibrant Mediterranean flavours. Sharing plates, grilled dishes, and inventive vegetarian options are matched with friendly, knowledgeable service.
What makes Tabure stand out is how personal it feels. Even as the business has grown, the restaurants still carry the sense of care, family influence and hands-on passion that started it all, making each one a real pleasure to experience time and again.
