The Cow & Plough is an excellent pub with its own gin distillery located on the Stoughton Grange Farm estate. It’s a stylish venue and much of the produce used on the menu comes from either ethical local suppliers or is grown on the smallholding and in the kitchen garden.
You can pop in for coffee, lunch or dinner and there’s always lots to discover including tutored foraging and dining experiences. And the whole family are welcome – children can enjoy the ‘Mini VIP’ menu and there’s lots of options for vegans, vegetarians and those on a gluten-free diet.
The pizza is particularly popular and there’s a special wood-fired pizza shack plus a seasonal ‘Woodland Menu’ which includes afternoon tea, farmer’s tea and picnic in the woods (which rather charmingly, includes a flask of soup).
The distillery produces a range of handcrafted gins, each with its own unique flavour profile. The gins are made using traditional methods, with only the finest ingredients, and the inspiration for them comes from the animals housed on their farm at Stoughton Grange. The result is a range of gins that are delicious and aromatic.
