The Jam Queen

Former Chartered Accountant, Vicki Holton is rapidly turning a hobby into a successful business called The Jam Queen. Born and bred in Wales, she moved to Northamptonshire in 2012 and brought her jam-making skills with her. Back then, she was making jam for family and friends and occasionally entering her jars into local horticultural shows. A few years later, things started to get more serious as she started growing her own fruit and vegetables and rapidly increased production!

Her passion is to use the freshest ingredients possible. Growing her own fruit and vegetables helps her fully control the process and the quality. But she’s definitely not afraid to forage for additional ingredients in friends’ gardens or local hedgerows!

For Vicki, the vital part of the process is speed between harvesting and jamming. Making tiny quantities at a time (often just 6 or 7 jars), ensures that her preserves are bursting with as much flavour as possible.

The result: a series of award-winning products! At the recent World Marmalade Awards, she took home Silver for the Lemon & Lime, and Golds for both the Seville Orange and the St Clement’s.

And when she’s not making her jams and marmalades, she also producing tray bakes, cakes, cookies and other sweet treats which can all be found in local pubs and coffee shops!
