The Kedleston Country House is a Georgian country house in the heart of Derbyshire offering quality food, drink and accommodation in a stunning setting.
Run by sisters Sally and Helen, it’s a venue worthy of accolades (it was recently crowned winner of the Channel 4 show, Four in a Bed), with a great team delivering superb hospitality. With beautiful grounds and stylish décor, it is also a perfect location for special occasions and functions.
While dining there, we sampled the Maple Cured Salmon with Coriander Emulsion and Pickles; Seared Scallops with Wild Mushrooms; Sea Bass Fillet and the 12-hour Sous Vide Pork Shoulder. All dishes were beautifully presented dishes with fervent flavours to match.
We were full to bursting but couldn’t resist sharing the crème brûlée, which was also delicious. For after dinner drinks, we opted for a Baileys coffee and mint tea, with hand-picked mint from the herb garden.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the garden room where we dined is bright and contemporary with slate tiled flooring, funky wooden furniture, mirrors and foliage. We will be back!
