The Lemon Tree is a coffee shop and café adding some foodie goodness to West Street in Oundle. It’s the brainchild of mother-and-son team Lisa and Cam Lennon. Maybe the business name is a play on words, maybe it’s a happy coincidence? Either way, The Lemon Tree is well worth a visit!
Oundle is a charming historic market town at the northern tip of Northamptonshire and from the outside, The Lemon Tree is tastefully decorated to reflect that. Inside, it’s a modern, clean space that benefited from its 2024 refurbishment. Lisa and Cam have created a stylish, welcoming environment with a big counter and a number of tables scattered around.
The food is a blend of café classics such as full English or eggs benedict, but with a few twists. The amazing Croque Monsieur, for example, is made with braised ham hocks from Trendalls butchers. The Scottish girolles with wild mushroom ketchup and poached eggs is also excellent. For fish-lovers, the salmon tartar with dill emulsion and yuzu puree is definitely worth a try. As you’d expect, there’s a great range of coffees, hot chocolates and delectable milkshakes, plus a wine list for those relaxing afternoons!
This is a young family business that have braved a tough market to introduce a quality new café to the good folk of Oundle. They deserve to be successful and we wish them every success!
