The Leys Bakery & Cafe
The Leys Bakery and Café, in the heart of the North Nottinghamshire countryside, is a family-run, community-inspired business. It’s open Wednesday to Saturday 8.30am to 4pm, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and tea.
The name ‘The Leys’ comes from the name of the land that the villages of North and South Wheatley sit on; and it’s environment that drives much of what The Leys is all about. The bakery and café are inspired by the rural nature of the local area and the menu changes weekly to reflect changing seasons and changing local produce. Owner Daisy and her team use the best quality ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible. Their fruit, for example, comes from Goacher’s and their meat from Westlands Farm Shop.
The menu blends café classics such as full English breakfast and bacon rolls with deli sandwiches and daily quiches.
Their bakery sells a range of baked goods as well as their slow-fermented handmade sourdough bread which is an absolute triumph!
With friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere, this artisan café perfectly complements the surrounding countryside which inspires it.
