The Plough, Normanton-on-the-Wolds
The Plough at Normanton-on-the-Wolds has recently been taken over by Nottinghamshire’s Secret Pub Company who also run The Radcliffe at Radcliffe on Trent and The Railway at Lowdham. Chef Mark Osborne and business partner David Hage who run the Secret Pub Company are passionate about food and drink and have a flair for hospitality. On a recent visit, we found the service to be impeccable and the food was beautifully presented and delicious.
There’s a vast menu to choose from and we opted to mix a few starters – focaccia from The Welbeck Bakehouse, a warm spiced lamb sausage roll with parsnip remoulade and roast apple sauce, and baked Camembert with truffle and rosemary honey and cheese straws. The Plough is a handsome and compelling dining pub that’s cosy in winter – and we already know its impressive garden will make this a fantastic destination come summer, too.
