2024 has been a big year for The Swan at Braybrooke, former winner of Best Northamptonshire Pub or Restaurant in the Great Food Club Awards. The pub, owned by Everards, is now being managed by local brewers Braybrooke. It’s an exciting collaboration from an elder statesman, Everards (founded in 1849) and a younger brewer, Braybrooke (founded in 2017).
And although the selection of beers has changed, to be understandably dominated by the fantastic Braybrooke range, some things remain the same. There is still a passion for great service, still a focus on local community and still a commitment to exceptional food featuring locally sourced ingredients.
This is a beautiful thatched roofed village pub that from the outside just looks like the sort of place you want to stop and while away a few hours. Inside, it’s been charmingly decorated: traditional low beams and wood panelling, enhanced with subtle lighting, beautiful furniture and a classy colour scheme.
The menu is exactly what you want from this type of pub. It features a full list of crowd pleasers like fish & chips, burgers, sausage & mash, steak & chips as well as roasts on Sundays. But everything is cooked to perfection and presented with care and craft.
And if you visit, maybe leave the car at home and come on your bike. The good folk at Braybrooke are planning on developing a mile-long cycle path directly to the brewery tap room!
