Emmy’s Brigadeiro was born from a moment of curiosity that turned into a full-fledged passion. In 2010, Hungarian Emmy Rocha met a Brazilian man who was to become her husband. He introduced her to brigadeiros, a chocolate treat that are staples at any Brazilian celebration and she was smitten! She started making them for friends and family and started to realise there might be a business opportunity.
So she ran a business from her home kitchen for years, juggling new recipes, with online orders and a young family. And a few years later, in 2024, she took the plunge and opened her shop in Old Hatfield, the only UK shop dedicated to selling brigadeiros.
But Emmy hasn’t stopped there. Not only does she run the shop and fulfil online orders, she also caters for events, hosts chocolate making workshops and creates corporate gifts. But she also finds time to run Emmy’s Brigadeiro Business Academy which is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs start culinary businesses from home!
