Francis Fine Wines is an independent wine merchant and wholesaler based in Cosby, South Leicestershire, supplying pubs, restaurants, hotels and other on-trade businesses. It is not a public-facing wine shop; its work centres on helping hospitality venues source distinctive bottles with reliable, personal service.
Founder Matt Francis launched the business in 1999 after working for Rémy Martin, where his interest in wine and champagne grew through labels including Krug. More than 25 years later, the business remains family-run and closely connected to the local food and drink scene.
Francis Fine Wines is the East Midlands’ only member of the Independent Wine Buying Consortium. This gives Matt and his team access to exclusive wines that cannot be found through other merchants, shops or online retailers, while adding useful buying power and shared expertise.
Francis Fine Wines supplies several Great Food Club-recommended places, including The Red Lion at Great Bowden, The Swan in Mountsorrel, The Lake Isle in Uppingham, The Sun Inn at Great Easton and The Cradock Arms in Leicester.
