Stem & Glory, Cambridge

Stem & Glory is a sustainable success story and an inspiration to other restaurants – the business is 100% vegan and was the country’s first carbon-negative restaurant. And, in 2022, picked up the gong for best vegan restaurant in the UK at the prestigious British Restaurant Awards.

Founded by former DJ, Louise Palmer-Masterton in 2016, Cambridge was the first restaurant and since then, a further two have been opened in London. Everything, down to the tiniest ingredients have been considered, taking into account how produce is grown and how it is shipped. As such, each item on the menu features a label which indicating the carbon intensity of the dish per kilo. It’s truly insightful stuff that will make you think more about what you consume.

The menu offers small plates (including Kimchi Pancakes and BBQ Cauliflower Wings), large plates (Pumpkin Ravioli and the Katsu Curry are both popular), there’s a large selection of pizzas, such as a seafood alternative plus bowls and sides. You’ll find plenty of desserts to finish on a sweet note. There’s also a children’s menu – and if you’ve got dogs, they are welcome at the restaurant, too.
