The Falcon at Long Whatton

The Falcon, a down-to-earth village pub at the heart of its local community, is an excellent choice for delicious homemade food. Managed by Ian and Suzanne, with their extensive experience in local pubs and yacht catering, they have successfully transformed The Falcon’s menu into a go-to for classic homemade dishes. Signature offerings include the six-hour organic lamb shoulder shepherd’s pie from neighbouring Manor Organic Farm, a ‘cheeky’ beef lasagne made with cheek and shin of beef, and a cock-a-leekie crumble with pulled chicken and a parsley cream sauce. The Sunday menu boasts a range of locally sourced meats such as a six-hour slow-roasted lamb, a 28-day aged Blackgate sirloin of beef or a “Pieminster” Pie.

The venue also serves Everards of Leicestershire-brewed beers, ensuring an authentic local flavour. In winter, enjoy the cosy warmth of the woodburner; in summer, bask in the large patio garden. Dogs and kids are also very welcome in The Falcon’s warm, relaxed atmosphere.

The pub offers ten highly individual well-appointed rooms, promising an excellent night’s sleep and a traditional breakfast.
