The Secret Truffletier, Woolmer Green

The Secret Truffletier is definitely a gem in the village of Woolmer Green, just south of Knebworth. Under the name Lessiters (its wholesale trading name), this business dates back to 1911. In the 1960s it was bought by a Swiss chocolatier called Peter Luder who grew it from its site in in London and moved it first to Hatfield and then onto Woolmer Green.

This business is now led by Peter’s daughters Nadine and Nina who are carrying on the traditions of producing exquisite chocolates using only the very finest Swiss chocolate. There is something for everyone from traditional fine award winning champagne truffles to contemporary flavours of salted caramel and our exclusive lemon cheesecake.

Popping into the café and shop is definitely worth it for chocolate fans! The deli counter has a lovely range of chocolates to take away. Or just grab a slice of cake and a hot cup of decadent hot chocolate. And if you’re really peckish, they also offer an afternoon tea featuring sandwiches and savoury snacks and of course gorgeous desserts. There are also chocolate fondue events and chocolate making workshops too.

An if you can’t make it in person, their website has a huge range of chocolate products such as boxes of chocolate truffles or hampers to get delivered!
