Managing Director Andy Hunt, Chef Director Leroy Allen and Operations Manager Simon Barnes will be familiar names to some. This is the talented team behind The Duck at Woolsthorpe and The Unicorn’s Head at Langar (our Pub of the Year 2024/5).
The White Horse at Ruddington is described as “a lively yet traditional gastropub with a casual and relaxed environment”. And it needs to stand out as there are seven pubs in this small village!
New head chef Richard Isaac has been brought in to increase the options and broaden the appeal. Instead of just relying on three course meals there are different snack and street-food options now too. Small plate starters such as patatas bravas, baby chorizo and halloumi fries sit alongside pub classics like Caesar salad, fish & chips or sausage & mash. But there are also more innovative options too such as Slow cooked lamb shoulder shawarma or crab and prawn fishcake.
If you do fancy the whole three-course option, there’s no better day than Sunday. Three courses for £24 is very reasonably priced, considering one of those courses is likely to be a huge roast with all the trimmings!
